Lumière du Temps is a musical journey through the Belle Époque, inspired by Giovanni Boldini’s luminous brushstrokes. His portraits of Belle Époque society women shaped the spirit of this project, translating the elegance, movement, and light of his paintings into music. Performed on a 1709 Stradivari violin, the album unfolds like a single day in Paris, from the bright morning of Elgar’s Chanson de Matin, through D’Ambrosio’s intimate miniatures, to the twilight reflections of Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Lili Boulanger. Each piece is a portrait in sound, capturing the elegance, light, and shifting moods of another era.
Lucilla Rose Mariotti Banwell is an internationally renowned violinist praised for her charismatic stage presence and the richness of her warm and profound sound, blending artistic sensitivity with technical virtuosity.
